Vidmoat Social Privacy Notice

1. Scope

This notice explains how data works on Vidmoat Social — the community feed inside Vidmoat. It supplements our general Privacy Policy, which covers the rest of Vidmoat and continues to apply.

2. What is public

Vidmoat Social is a public feed. When you take part, the following is visible to anyone using it:

• Your profile: handle, display name, bio and profile photo;
• Videos you post, their thumbnails, captions and hashtags;
• Like, comment and view counts on your posts;
• Comments and replies you write, and likes you leave on comments;
• Who you follow and who follows you;
• The “How it was made” breakdown of a posted video — a summary generated from that project’s edit metadata (which tools, effects and steps were used). Your source files, unposted projects and drafts are never shared.

3. What stays private

• Your email address and account details are never shown on Social;
• Likes you leave on posts are used for counts and your feed ranking, not published as a browsable list;
• Reports you file are confidential — the person you report is not told who reported them;
• Blocks are private — the blocked user is not notified;
• Your editing projects, uploads and exports remain private unless you explicitly post one.

4. How we use Social data

We use engagement signals (likes, comments, views, follows) to rank the feed and show you relevant videos, to compute public counters, and to detect spam and abuse. Reports and moderation decisions are stored so we can enforce the community guidelines and meet our app-store obligations. We record when you accepted the guidelines. We do not sell your Social data.

5. Retention and deletion

You can delete your posts and comments at any time; they disappear from the feed immediately. Content removed for rule violations, and associated reports, may be retained for a limited period for safety, audit and legal reasons before being purged. Deleting your Vidmoat account removes your Social profile, posts, comments, likes and follows. Unreferenced media files are garbage-collected automatically.
