Vidmoat Social Terms & Community Guidelines

Last updated: August 4, 2026

1. What these terms cover

Vidmoat Social is the community feed inside Vidmoat where creators share videos made in the Vidmoat editor, follow each other, and interact through likes and comments. These terms apply specifically to Vidmoat Social and supplement our general Terms of Service, which continue to apply. By creating a Social profile or interacting with content on the feed, you agree to both.

2. Your profile

You need a Vidmoat account and must accept these guidelines before you can create a Social profile, post, or comment. Your handle, display name, bio and profile photo are public. Choose a handle that does not impersonate another person, brand or organisation. You are responsible for everything published from your profile.

3. Your content and the licence you grant

You keep ownership of every video you post. So that the feed can work, you grant Vidmoat a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transcode, generate thumbnails from, and publicly display your posts within Vidmoat products for as long as the post is live. Deleting a post ends this licence, except for short-lived backups and any copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons.

  • Only post videos you made or have the rights to share — including any music, footage and images inside them.
  • Posts may include a public “How it was made” breakdown generated from your project’s edit metadata (the tools, effects and steps used — never your private media files). Posting a video means you are happy for that breakdown to be shown.
  • Captions, hashtags, comments and likes are public.

4. Community rules — zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Do not post or share:

  • Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or threats against any person or group;
  • Nudity, sexually explicit material, or the sexualisation of minors in any form;
  • Graphic violence, gore, or content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or dangerous acts;
  • Spam, scams, deceptive practices, or artificially inflated engagement;
  • Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or privacy;
  • Illegal content or the promotion of illegal activity.

These rules apply to videos, captions, hashtags, comments, profiles and handles alike.

5. Moderation and enforcement

We use a combination of automated filtering and human review to enforce these rules. Content flagged by our filters or by community reports may be pulled from the feed pending review. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these guidelines. Repeated or serious violations lead to removal of all your Social content and loss of access to Vidmoat Social — and, for the most serious cases, your Vidmoat account. We may remove any content or restrict any account at our discretion to keep the community safe.

6. Reporting and blocking

Every post, comment and profile can be reported in two taps, and you can block any user instantly. Blocking hides their content from you and yours from them. Please use reporting for genuine concerns — misusing the report system is itself a violation of these guidelines.

7. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on Vidmoat Social infringes your copyright, email legal@vidmoat.com with the content link, proof of ownership, and your contact details. We remove infringing content promptly and terminate repeat infringers.

8. Leaving Vidmoat Social

You can delete any of your posts at any time from the app. Deleting your Vidmoat account removes your Social profile and content with it. We may update these terms as Vidmoat Social evolves; material changes will be announced in the app, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
