SPEECH & CAPTIONS

Text-Based Video Editing

Text Mode turns your footage into a document. Delete a sentence and the video follows.

Plan
Every plan, Hobby (free) included
AI credits
5 credits to transcribe a file the first time; reusing that transcript is free.

What it does

Text Mode lays the transcript of your project out as text. Select words to play that moment, fix a misheard word, or delete a passage and the matching video is cut with the gap closed.

Text Mode edits what was said; it does not invent new speech. To change a line, re-record it or generate a voiceover.

How to use it

  1. Open a project and choose Text Mode from the More menu.
  2. Read the transcript and select the words you want to cut.
  3. Delete them. The video is cut and the timeline closes up.

Who it is for

  • Podcasters and interviewers
  • Writers who think in scripts
  • Anyone cutting long talking footage

Questions about Text-Based Video Editing

Can I type new words and have them spoken?

No. Text Mode cuts what was said; it does not synthesise new speech in your voice.

Is it a separate app?

No. It is a view of the same project. Exit Text Mode and your cuts are on the timeline.

Does it cost credits?

Only the first transcription of a file, 5 credits. Cutting is free.
