How to install Vidmoat on Mac.
Download the disk image
Choose Download for Mac. This release is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 Ventura or newer.
Drag Vidmoat into Applications
Open the DMG and drag the Vidmoat app onto Applications. Then open Vidmoat from your Applications folder.
Sign in and start a project
Use your existing Vidmoat account, or create one. Open a cloud project or choose footage from your Mac.
Free to download. AI and export allowances follow your account’s plan. See plans and limits.
Does Vidmoat support Intel Macs?
The downloadable Mac app supports Apple Silicon only. On an Intel Mac, use the Vidmoat web editor in a current browser.
Can I edit without an internet connection?
The desktop app loads the online editor. Sign-in, AI features and cloud project services need an internet connection, even when your source footage is local.
Will local footage appear on my phone?
A local file stays on the computer that has it. Upload the footage if you want to use it on another device or include it in a cloud export. AI analysis and cloud tools may also require media uploads.
How do I update the Mac app?
The app checks for updates and lets you install an available update. You can also download the latest DMG here. Versions 0.1 and 0.2 need a manual reinstall because their update feed was broken.
