The message reads Cloud storage is full, N GB used of your N GB plan limit. Free space in Media, or upgrade for more. Caps are 500 MB on Hobby, 5 GB on Creator, 15 GB on Studio and 50 GB pooled on Team.
What is counted
Everything in your upload library, including files Vidmoat made for you such as editing proxies and previews. The Media page in the dashboard shows the meter and the breakdown, and it warns at 80 percent before it blocks you.
What being full stops
Only new uploads and imports. You can still edit, render and export everything you already have. Being over quota does not put your work at risk.
Freeing space safely
Go to the dashboard Media page. Filter by Not used anywhere and sort by Largest first. That is the fastest safe win: files nothing references.
If you select something that is still in use, you get a dialog headed Some of these files are still in use that names each project using it, including teammates' projects, before you confirm. Deleting a file removes it everywhere, so clips using it will show Media missing in every project.
What cannot be deleted from there
- A file that is a published Social post.
- Your profile picture.
- A file someone else uploaded and shared with a team, unless you are an admin of that team.
These are hard blocks, not warnings.
AI-generated media
Flagged separately, because you paid credits for it and deleting it is permanent. It can be deleted, but you are asked twice.
Things that are already handled for you
Identical files are stored once, however many times you upload them. Unused files are tidied automatically after a grace period, so a file you uploaded and never put on a timeline does not sit there forever. Anything on a timeline is never touched by that cleanup.
If it still does not add up
The Media page has a footnote counting system files separately from yours. If the number still looks wrong, open a ticket and we will look at the ledger directly.
