There are exactly two ways to sign in to Vidmoat, and both are on the login page.
Continue with Google
The Continue with Google button. This is the same account whether you signed up on the web, the desktop app or a phone.
Email and password
The EMAIL and PASSWORD fields, then Log in. If you originally signed up with Google there is no password on the account, so use the Google button instead.
Forgot your password
Use the Forgot? link beside the password field. Enter your email and we send a reset link. If it answers No account found with this email, you have either typed a different address or the account is a Google one.
What the sign-in errors mean
- No account found with this email. Try signing up. There is no Vidmoat account on that address.
- Incorrect password. Try again or reset it. Use the Forgot link.
- Too many failed attempts. Try again later. A temporary lock after repeated wrong passwords. Wait a while, then reset the password rather than guessing again.
Verifying your email
After signing up we send a verification link and the page waits for you to click it. Verifying is not required to use the editor, so a slow email does not block you. It is required later if you want to publish a plugin or a developer app.
"Unauthorized, please sign in" while you were working
Your session expired. Reload and sign in again. Projects are saved on our servers, not in the tab, so signing back in loses nothing. The one exception is a file that was still uploading when the tab closed.
"Account suspended" or "Your access is currently suspended"
A suspended account can still open and read everything it has, but cannot start new work. Nothing is deleted. Neither state happens automatically, so open a ticket and we will tell you exactly why.
Deleting your account
On the account page, Delete account. It removes your projects and your files permanently and cannot be undone.
