Refunds and getting money back

What we do and do not have a policy for, and the one written refund guarantee.

Be aware there are two different things called a refund at Vidmoat. Most of what you will read about refunds concerns AI credits, not money.

AI credit refunds are automatic

When an AI run fails to deliver, its credits go back to your balance without you asking. That is the value guarantee and it is covered in the article on the AI making no changes. It costs nothing to ask for and it is not the same as a payment refund.

Money refunds on a subscription

There is no published blanket refund policy for monthly or yearly subscriptions. We are not going to pretend otherwise here. If you were charged for something you did not mean to buy, or charged twice, open a ticket with the billing category and tell us what happened. A real person reads it.

Two things that may serve you better than a refund:

  • Cancelling keeps what you paid for. You are not cutting yourself off early by cancelling, so there is usually nothing to refund. You keep access to the end of the period.
  • Downgrading to the free plan converts your unused time into account credit on your account, applied against a future plan charge. That is offered automatically on the downgrade path.

The one written refund guarantee

The lifetime offer has an explicit policy, stated on its terms page: 14 days, no questions, provided you have not exported more than five videos. Ask at fred@vidmoat.com and it is done.

Day passes and credit packs

These are one-time purchases that deliver immediately. A day pass ends by itself and there is nothing to cancel. Credit packs land in your balance and never expire. Neither has a stated refund policy, so if something went wrong with one, open a ticket.

Creator Studio

The $9.99 a month subscription is cancelled at its own billing page and you keep access to the end of the month you paid for.

What to include in a ticket

The date, the amount, and which product it was: a plan, a credit pack, a day pass, an expert handoff, or Creator Studio. If you are signed in we can already see your plan and billing state, so you do not need to hunt for a transaction ID.

Did that not cover it?

Send us a ticket and we will answer. If you are signed in it arrives with your plan and any recent errors attached, so you do not have to describe them.
